Queenstown is not exactly the cheapest place to visit in New Zealand. But we happened to find some cheap food options this winter on a week long trip that was a total hit with the little Babe and a girlfriend and her little babe.
Erik's Fish and Chips
We found a mega cheap deal on Book Me for Two Fish and Chips for $12. And mama this fed both my girlfriend and her toddler. Like really fed us. We were extremely hungry from missing our flight from Auckland and the day just being much longer than we planned. And Erik's Fish and Chips seriously hit the spot!
They are set up in an outdoor food truck style with a room next to it that's love and heated (and totally babe friendly - look at the Little Babes go).
This place is perfectly located so once we were done with our Fish and Chips just around the corner we strolled down to Lake Wakatipu and Queenstown Centre.
Even without the Book Me voucher the menu seemed super cheap and with such good portion sizes. Chips priced as low as $4.50 NZD.
Mercure Queenstown Room Service
Yup believe it or not there were some cheap options with good food portions at our hotel's room service menu. Clearly we indulged in a potato diet (cos its filling + cheap). We found wedges and chips for $7 each and the portion size would feed both mum and bub! All with the comfort of not having to leave your hotel room which with toddlers can be an absolute blessing.
Pak and Save Frankton
We all know the best way to save on food is to buy it from the supermarket and cook for yourselves right? Yes, totally right! Although these mama's were not going to cook while keeping two little babes together so instead we opted on stocking up on snacks for the boys for roadtrips. This was an absolute lifesaver! We also bought a pack of 10 Uncle Toby's oats and that last us about 5 days for both two mama's and two little babes #winning.
